Occupation: Attorney, U.S. Department of Homeland Security; Member, American Federation of Government Employees, Local 511
Educational background: Bachelor of Arts from Syracuse University; Juris Doctor from University of Michigan Law School
Born and raised in Oklahoma, I lived in seven states and three foreign countries before buying my first (and current) home in Milwaukie in early 2002. Within a year of moving to Milwaukie, I had begun serving as chair of the Island Station neighborhood association and on the Citizens Utility Advisory Board. I subsequently served on the Milwaukie Planning Commission for nine years, including three years as chairperson.
Since 2003, I have been involved in habitat restoration efforts in Spring Park and Elk Rock Island.
Since 2011, I have been a member of the Board of Directors of Celebrate Milwaukie, Inc. (CMI), the nonprofit organization that oversees the Milwaukie Farmers Market. In this capacity, I have been closely involved in website and Facebook development for CMI and the Market, and in advertising strategy for the Market.
In 2018, I was proud to join the Board of the newly-formed Milwaukie Parks Foundation.
My City Council service also includes serving as liaison to various regional committees, including the North Clackamas Urban Watersheds Council, the Regional Water Providers Consortium, and the Clackamas Fire District.
